Bike & Barge Holidays in the Netherlands
Our Bicycles
There is a good bicycle available for all participants from ages nine and up with 24 gears and handbrakes. All bikes are comfortable touring bikes made by Gazelle, Holland's leading bicycle brand, or bicycles of comparable quality. Pannier bags, a good lock and a water bottle are a part of standard equipment on each bicycle. You will get a repair kit when biking on your own. There are different frame sizes available according to your height.
Bike rental: € 60,- per week.
E-bike
This electric bike has 21 gears. More information will follow.

Bicycles for children
Your children are more than welcome on our Bike & Barge Holidays!
We offer bikes for children (from about 9 years) who are able to bike completely independently and have experience with biking up to 50 km per day (flat landscape). We advise you to make a day tour with your child/children prior to your biking holiday.
A good alternative would be the trailer bike (see below).
A child's bike has 21 gears, hand brakes. A helmet is included. There are two different sizes available: for children from 115 to 135cm (3'9½'' to 4'5'') and from 135 to 155cm (4'5'' to 5'1'').
Bike rental: € 45,- per week.
Trailer bike
For children who are not able to bike fully independently we offer trailer bikes. They are the ideal solution to give children a sense of independence without the dangers of participating in traffic. This one-wheeled bicycle is attached to the bicycle of the adult. The child pedals whereas the adult helps a little by 'pulling' the bicycle forward.
The trailer bike has 3 gears and is adviced for children from age 5 to 8 (up to 35 kilo = 77 pounds). A helmet is included.
Bike rental: € 45,- per week.
Child seats
This seat (only rear seat available) is for children from about age 1 to 4 (up to 25 kilo= 55 pounds). A child helmet is included.
Rental: € 15,- per week.

Bicycle helmet
Although wearing a bicycle helmet is not required in the Netherlands, we highly recommend doing so. Children are required to wear the helmets that are provided with the children's bicycles/seats/trailer bikes. Helmets for adults are not included with the trip package. You need to bring your own.
Bicycle insurance
Only available on our Bike & Barge tours in the Netherlands.
