This is one of the most varied routes as far as nature and culture are concerned. You cycle along various rivers like the Vecht, the Rhine and the IJssel. One of the loveliest towns in the Netherlands must be the religious city of Utrecht, with the Dom and Domkerk (cathedral and cathedral church). The cellars are very special; they continue far beneath the road and the houses and come out at the low quays along the canals. The river landscape brings you to Arnhem with its famous bridge from the Second World War. A visit to the Kröller Müller

Musuem in the National Park of the Hoge Veluwe enables you to view the famous paintings by Van Gogh on your way to the IJssel river. The river meanders through the meadows, floodplains and forests, alternating with picturesque villages and towns that display clear evidence of their medieval origin. From Kampen you sail to the largest polder of the Netherlands; until 1950 there was only water there. A surprising cycle trip takes you through one of the largest connected swamp areas in Western Europe, with very special flora and fauna. From Almere you cross the lakes from the empoldered land back to the ‘old’ country. There you can visit the splendid medieval water fortress the Muiderslot and the lively port of Muiden.

Highlights include:
- National Park the Hoge Veluwe
- Kröller Müller Museum
- Nature reservation
- Oostvaardersplassen
