During the day you will discover the country by bike and afterwards you can relax on a luxury sailing ship. You will cycle through the beautiful nature of Turkey with splendid views, along the remains of ancient civilizations and through picturesque Turkish villages. In short, this is an active holiday where you can really see the beauty of the country. The trips take you through a variety of landscapes; mountains, forests or farmland. Major roads will be avoided as much as possible and we always will make sure to have time to explore, relax, or take a dip in the sea. The routes will show you cultural attractions like ancient archaeological sites, canyons and an old abandoned Greek town and sometimes you will literally ride through it! The daily cycling tours are of a recreational character, and there will be regular stops for resting, eating and drinking or just to take pictures of the beautiful landscape! with delicious lunches at surprising places. The routes range from 30 to 60 km and are accompanied by Dutchman Raymond Bouwer, a real bike enthusiast and the Turkish guide Ilhan Ataseven. There are occasional long and steep climbs in the hilly and mountainous areas. If the daily distance is shorter this usually means that there are more climbs along that route. In general the average rate of ascent during climbs is between 5 and 9% and the longest climb does not exceed 5 km in length. The daily cycling trips are suitable for anyone with a basic level of fitness.
You will stay on the 30 meter long Sea Angel 2, a wooden sailing ship built in 2005 and one of the most comfortable and luxurious gulets along the Turkish coast . On board there’s room for up to 16 guests who stay in spacious 2-person cabins with air conditioning. All cabins have private bathrooms. For general use there’s a sundeck with 16 mattresses, a large front deck with beanbags and a rear deck with a long dining table. Inside there is a large lounge with an open kitchen where the cook prepares a wide variety of delicious meals. On board you will be guided by the Dutch owner Amanda, she will provide you with all necessary information.
The vessel will principally sail on engine from bay to bay, always bringing you to where the cycling will start. Most nights the ship will be in a bay so you can enjoy the peace and the beauty of nature. How about a swim before breakfast?
